Blazin' Fire Truck Birthday Party

Sirens scream as that red fire truck races down the street! And the heart of every little boy jumps, because he wants to be in that fire truck! After all, doesn't every little boy want to be a fire fighter when he grows up?

You can give him a taste of that fire truck dream with a fire truck birthday party! He may not be able to ride in the fire truck, ring the bells, or hold the fire hose, but he will have a "blazing" good time! And if you arrange for a fire truck at the party, he'll have it all!

If you have a future firefighter, you have to check out our super cool birthday invitations.

Here's some of our favorite party tips and ideas for the planning a firetruck themed party that everyone will be talking about:

A Sizzling Fire Truck Birthday Party Menu

  • Turn your drink pitchers into mini fire hydrants with posterboard or construction paper. You can also turn your drinks cooler into a fire truck.
  • Serve your chips, crackers, and finger foods in plastic fire hats. (You will need to anchor them.)
  • Serve barbecue food such as chicken wings, hamburgers, and hot dogs. Be careful with spicy food, as children may not be able to handle it.
  • Serve salsa for the chips, but label it "Fire Sauce." You could even tape paper flames around the bowl. Make sure the salsa is mild for the children.
  • An incredible 3-D Fire Truck Cake
  • "Fire Fighter Relay"- Put out clothes similar to what a fire fighter wears, or purchase play fire fighter uniforms. The children on each team must all get dressed in their fire fighter clothes as fast as possible, then remove them before returning to the line. The fastest team wins!
  • Use the fire truck birthday party as a teaching opportunity and instruct your guests on fire safety. The adult who does the fire safety instructing could even dress up as a real fire fighter.
  • If you do request a real fire truck to attend your party, remember that they will not be able to come if they have an emergency call. An alternative is to ask the fire station if you can bring the kids there for a tour.
  • Sections of old garden hose, plastic fire helments, and fireball candies make great fire truck birthday party favors.

    No more SNOW!!!

Will the snow ever stop??!! Gotta love Ohio weather. I can't begin to tell you how ready I am for Spring!!!

What did we do this week-end you might be wondering. Not much since we were snowed in. We finally managed to get our drive way cleared by Saturday evening, but there was no way I was driving in this weather.

My husband and 2 year old son, Dallas, decided to make the best of it and off they went to play in the snow. Hubby was doing back flips and making snow angels. I'm not sure who had more fun, Daddy or Dallas!!

So, what did you do this week-end?? Please be nice -- I don't want to hear from anyone that wore shorts and a t-shirt this week-end:) It's just NOT fair!!!
